Description
The PC controlled USB-Switch 3,5" turns devices with up to
30V / 3A operating voltage on and off. Devices are connected with
mono jack. By using of an extremely Finder®Relay it is possible
to operate devices with inductive load. For example the USB Switch
3,5" controls ringing bells, playtrains, etc.
With our software ClewareControl the switch also can be used as a time switched clock with different
repetition intervals. Apart from starting and end-time also time
intervals or weekdays can be choosed as circuit criterion.
The USB Switch 3,5" can be configured by software in such way,
after switching on the PC he activated the power (ATSX). The configuration is reversible. The device
may be reconfigured by the user to act as an USB-Switch 3,5" or USB- Switch ATXX.
The size of the switch is about 55 x 85 x 80 mm. A mono jack is
located in the short side of the switch. On top a LED is located
to indicate the switch state. The LED is red if the switch is off
and it will turn to green if the switch is on.
The USB-Switch should be operated in inner rooms only and should
be protected against humidity. The permissible operating temperature
range is 10° - 60° Celsius.
Up to 127 switches may theoretically be connected to a PC using
several HUBs. The HUBs used must use a separate power supply. When
using Cleware USB devices it is not neccessary to install device
drivers. The standard USB drivers are sufficient. So the system
stability will not be harmed.
The USB-Switch 3,5" will be delivered with the software ClewareControl
for displaying and switching. The software is running with Windows® Operating Systems since Windows® 2K
(® Microsoft Windows is a registered trademark of the Microsoft Corporation.) Linux support is also available.
An application program interface (API) and a simple example for
turning an USB-Switch is supplied. Some more support is planned.
The USB-Switch 3,5" may also be controlled via the network.
The connection is established with the TCP/IP protocol. On the remote
control PC the USB-Switch appears like a local device and could
be handled the same way. Several devices even on different PCs could
be controlled simultaniously.
An application program interface (API) to drive the USB-Switch from
customer programs is part of the delivery. The API bundles some
very simple functions for opening and reading the device. The complex
USB device handling is hided.
Every Switch own its unique serial number. This make it easy to
identify the devices even when the USB plug position changes or
new USB devices are connected. The serial number is accessible through
the API and could therefore be used as a simple dongle.
The product USB-Switch 3,5" comes with a 2-year software update
service via Internet free of charge. New versions are made available
in the Cleware download area and may be downloaded free.
The usage of the USB-Switch is strictly prohibited, if the failure
of the sensor will harm people.
Please note:
PC programs may fail or may be interfeared through other programs.
Don't connect devices to the USB-Switch that may case harm if the
switch turns on unexpected!
